April Fool’s Day! And Lorraine gets… a face-full. Don’t try this at home kids, things can get messy! And yes, Lorraine should have safety goggles on, but if that what worries you than this comic is not for you. 🙂
FYI: Apparently the experiment Bud is having Lorraine perform is called the Elephant Toothpaste Foamy Science Experiment. I think the last thing you want to tell a child is what they’re creating is some form of toothpaste. Lawsuits incoming in 3, 2…
I’m going to need another week to get the next page ready. Too long of a story to post here, but suffice to say my days are filled with something rather unexpected, but won’t last long. I’m settling into a routine and will be able to get the next page ready for next week. Also, my dog Bailey has fully recovered and is her old cheerful self again.
Def Leppard did form in the ’70s, but I consider them mostly an ’80s band. I dig this tune, so I decided to break with using ’70s rockers to slip this one in. The title “Foolin'” fits for sure!
F.F.F.Foolin, good song, definitely fits for today. Lorraine was Pasted or is it wasted ?
Probably wasted if she agreed to help Bud. 🙂
He’s performing magic !!! and I’m performing a desperate tie-in to a magical song many might not think of as CanCon but legally is since the band was living in Vancouver at the time and the producer, label etc, were Canadian and that met the requirements, hence why it gets so much airplay on Classic Rock channels up here where you still have to hit that all important percentage or risk the wrath of the CRTC.

Ah, man, love those thick ’70s synthesizers! I built a few of them back in the day. Nothing like a MOOG, but still, a decent synth’ on a budget.
Something tells me Bud should avoid Chemistry along with biology, hydodynamics, phyics and thermaldynamics or his fellow students after suffer the ill effects are going to give a hell of wedgie perhaps nugies till he’s bald. Maybe his subject in collage should be law because after the prank he’ll need a law degree to get out this mess. Thanks Oldarmourer love Heart.
As someone who has done silly stuff like Bud, you learn how to avoid legal entanglements. 😉
Not so crazy about the part where Ann hightailed it up here to be with her draft dodging boyfriend who wasn’t being drafted anyway, while I was in the service when the album came out ,but it sure made filling out the logs easier when you could check off another C/C box 🙂
The band was living in Vancouver, the ‘Dreamboat Annie’ album was recorded in Vancouver and it was released on a Canadian label, MushRoom Records, like so many great CanCon Classics were.
“Magic Man” (backed with “How Deep It Goes”), was first picked up for radio play by CJFM-FM 96 in Montreal in ’75 and without that they may well have faded into obscurity instead of being asked to open for Rod Stewart and getting their career started.
You learn something new
I live for trivia like this.
Don’t know how I missed the part about Ann’s boyfriend avoiding the draft, but I sure remember Mushroom Records and the stink they caused the band. Yep, sometimes all it took back then was for a DJ to break the mold and play something new to propel the song and/or the band into the limelight. A DJ friend of mine from Chicago convinced Rod Stewart to release “Maggie May” as an A-side single (it was originally the B-side to “Reason to Believe”). See how I tied in Rod Stewart?! Great minds…
